The tournament is on! We now have enough kids signed up at both schools. If you missed class for some reason this past week and missed the registration deadline, you can still register online through early Monday morning, November 1.

You will also need to send an email to efauth@the4thdegree.com to also let me know if you will be competing in forms or sparring or both.

Mr. Fauth and I are really looking forward to seeing our kids do well and have fun at this tournament.

Elite Martial Arts has 10 registrations and The 4th Degree has 5 registrations for the November 6 Tournament. We have extended our registration deadline to October 28. You can register online here or register at the school through October 28th. Mr. Fauth and I think that The 4th Degree can do much better than 10 registrations, don't you?

Don't forget to come join us for an open house on that same day. This is a great time to invite friends from school or work  and family to visit our school, have some refreshments and cheer our junior students on as they compete against Elite Martial Arts students. Let us know if you plan on coming for the Open House and if you plan on bringing or inviting friends and family. We'll have free hot dogs and lemonade for anyone attending and some door prizes as well.

You can take in some fun at the tournament and cheer our junior students on to victory in their forms and sparring competitions.

Have you been thinking of stepping up your game and reaching for that next level of fitness? Mr. Scott Hiers did just that two weeks ago when he competed in the Rogers Tri event in Circle C on October 9th. This was Scott's first ever Novice Triathlon.

Mr. Scott trains regularly in our Saturday morning classes alongside his wife Lisa and daughter Sarah. When Scott decided to step up his game, it meant adding a Monday night POWerFIT workout session at The 4th Degree, riding his bike 13 miles to and from work, jogging during his daily lunch break, and getting in some swimming practice every week. He carried out this rigorous routine for three months prior to competing in the Rogers Tri. Now that's what we call stepping up your game!

The Rogers Tri Event competitors swam 500 meters, jogged 2 miles and cycled for 12 miles. Not only did Scott score an impressive 5th place in this triathlon but he has trimmed down several sizes and lost some weight in the process. Congratulations Scott!

Are you ready to step up your game? Your first step might be to just join us every Monday and/or Wednesday night for POWerFIT workouts. POWerFIT offers a wide variety of strength training, cardio and plyometric routines. Who knows? You too might get inspired to train for a triathlon or even a 5K run/walk event of your own this coming year. Anyone for starting an annual 4th Degree Novice Triathlon event just for students? That could be interesting.

Remember. POWerFIT workouts are FREE for our enrolled students.

This tournament will be a small event held at our school with students from Mr. Roberson's school Elite Martial Arts. We need registrations in no later than October 25th! Tournament will start at 10:00 AM and is expected to end at around 1:00 PM.

If you haven't been by the school lately, be sure to come by soon and check out our new windows. It took quite a while to decide how to design the window displays but we're glad to say they're all done!

Cooper and Jackson Price, two brothers in our Jr. Taekwon-do program celebrated their birthdays at The 4th Degree with a Star Wars Theme Party. We had about 24 very excited kids, ages 6 to 8, whooping it up and having a great time Saturday afternoon (Oct 2). Mr. Fauth was the Jedi Master conducting training for his little Jedi candidates. And guess what? They all passed and became official members of the Jedi Council!

Thanks to Chris Burton, Sarah and Michael Hermes for all your help at this event. Remember to spread the word that The 4th Degree is available for kids theme parties not just karate theme parties. Thanks to Jen and Andy Price for choosing to have their party with us.
